Make Your Own Mad Libs

Requirements:

Basic HTML skiils
A website (duh)
A PHP-supporting host
A sense of humor and creativity

If you have all of the above, you're ready to begin making Mad Libs!

The Original Story-Every Mad Lib starts with a story. I'll make mine simple, for demonstration's sake:

Mario jumped over the lazy Goomba.
Erase words-Take out the words you want the viewer to fill in and replace with parts of speech:

Mario [past tense verb] over the lazy [noun].
Insert coding-Replace the bracketed parts of speech with this code:
[?php echo $_POST["KEYWORD HERE"]; ?]
Replace the outer brackets with < and >, respectively. Do not do aything to the brackets around "KEYWORD HERE". Replace KEYWORD HERE with any combination of letters or numbers that seem easy to remember.
Mario [?php echo $_POST["pasttense"]; ?] over the lazy [?php echo $_POST["noun"]; ?].
Write the form-Save the page with the phrase you wrote in the first three steps and start a new page for the form. Here is what the form should look like:

[form action="LINK" method="post"]
DIRECTION: [input type="text" name="KEYWORD" /]
[input type="submit" /]
[/form]

Again replace [ and ] with < and >. Repeat the second line as many times as deleted words you have. Replace LINK with the address of the page with your story, direction with what the viewer needs to fill in (ex: Noun), and keyword with your keyword from earlier.
Save and test-Save your file and go to your page with the form. Try filling the form in to see if it works. If it doesn't, look back at this tutorial and see what went wrong. If you still can't figure it out, I or someone else can help you. If it does work, congratulations! You've created your own Mad Lib!
